Jeremyah Has Arrived!

 Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

I started labor on May 11th at 8am- and had contractions 6 to 8 minuets apart lasting for about 45 seconds. We thought it was going to be the real thing- but that lasted for about only 2 hours. I went out with my mom and got a pedicure and then went to my 39 week appointment. They said I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced. They scrapped my membrane- meaning they separated my cervix from the bag of waters. I then went into labor at 5pm- having contractions at 3 to 5 minuets apart last for 1 minuet to 2 1/2 minuets. I went into the birthing center at 9:30pm. I got into the bath at around 11:30 pm. and started pushing at around 1am. He was born on May 12th at 2:06am. He is 8lbs 3oz; 20 1/2 inches long. He is healthy and so beautiful!

Happy April

Hey everyone! i hope you all had a great Passover and Easter!!

The baby is growing just right- size of a small roasted chicken!!! I am growing huge! but i have only gained 10lbs ... and his bottom is right under my rib cage OUCH!!!! but other than that and the regular back problems... everything is good. We have 6 more weeks! we are hoping for sooner though.

everyone is getting sick up here- so of course i caught something... but its okay- im getting over it now... i just hope i dont pass it to Jon.

Jon still has his job and still working nights, he will have two weeks off starting from when the baby is born, so if you want to visit, just let us know!!!

This summer we will be participating in many craft shows for our new business, so that should be fun!

I also joined a bunch of Moms groups here in north idaho, and i am meeting alot of new people (i should have been doing this the whole time we have been here) but we are now just getting settled in :) we also just signed another lease, this time for 1 year! so we are super excited to finally say " we are home" :) Pictures coming soon :)

The Nursery

Yahooo! We just finished the nursery, and we are so proud to say we did it on a budget and creativity! I made very affordable wall art (all under $10.00) and it looks great! We incorporated some of Papa Jon's baseball memorabilia, from when he was younger, and used that to accent the room.

Jon's older siblings from California pitched in and purchased us a crib and changing table that made the room! p.s. I built it all by myself! (it was really easy)

we bought the futon and entertainment center (which we made into a dresser) off of craigs list. We added coordinating colored baskets to the new "dresser" to make it useful :)

About Birthing Baby Jeremyah

Hello all! Many of you guys have been asking about the birth of the baby, so i will answer all of your questions in this email.

Q: Will you be having the baby in California?
A: No, we are happy to say that since we have been living here for the past 10 months, that this is our new home, and we will be having the baby here in idaho

Q: Will you be coming down to California after the baby is born?
A: We will not be going down to California until the baby is 6 months old (so we will be there for thanksgiving)

Q: What type of birth are you having?
A: We are having a home water birth. (in a birthing home, not ours)

Q: Why are you not having it at a hospital, won't it be unsafe?
A: We are not having a hospital birth for a few reasons, 1. we dont have medical insurance, so birthing the baby will be an outrageous amount of money, 2. we want to have a natural birth (vaginal, without drugs) 3. we feel that it will put less stress on the baby and i, to be in an environment that is under control (rather then having people we dont know in the room), and there are many many more.

Q: Since you do not have medical insurance, how will you ensure the babies health post birth?
A: Well, we will be having weekly check-ups with our midwife, until the baby is 6 wks old, to ensure the proper growth of the baby. Since, we are nursing the baby (breast feeding) we know the baby will get the proper nutrition. also because we are nursing, we feel that the baby will not need to get vaccinated or be injected with vitamins that the baby will get from me, as well as the anti- bodies from my milk.

Q: Who will be there to help you give birth?
A: We have an experienced midwife, that i have been seeing for the duration of my pregnancy that will be there to help with all the medical things. Jon took a 10 week birthing coach class, and he will be the one who will be coaching me through the labor process. We feel that no one else should be there in the room who was not intimately involved in the process of creating the child. We feel that this is a very intimate bonding experience, and would like no distractions of random people, family or friends walking in and out of the room.

Q: Can we visit after the baby is born?
A: Yes! My mom will be coming from May 10th- June 7th, Jons mom and aunt will be coming in the beginning of June, and so we would love to have visitors this summer!

If you guys have anymore questions, please feel free to email us, we would be happy to answer them!

Wedding

Since we got married in july,in idaho at a contest we won, and were unable to have a family and friends there to witness, we decided to have a more traditional wedding in California (where we are originally from)

its coming up in 30 days!!!!

Since I went to school well wedding planning and event planning, I have most things planned, but we are on a supppper tight budget: $2500

I feel like its impossible, especially having it in southern California with a guest list of 100 people coming!

we are doing well, we are just having a hard time coming up with the money, as we do not want to get into debt, by taking out a loan or putting it on a credit card...

Baby Room

today we went shopping for fabric to make wall art for baby Jeremyah's bedroom.

Our color theme is light blue, dark blue, brown and tan and maybe some orange (if i can convince Jon). We chose these colors, so that it can grow with him, as he becomes a toddler.

I am making quilt square to put in picture frames on the wall, and also putting fabric in embroidery hoops to make inexpensive wall art as well.

pictures coming soon!

Our Proposal

Date of event

How we got engaged
Photobucket
Last year Jon and Paris went to a state park called Wheeler Gorge. It is a camp ground with a creek and places to hike as well. They carved their names in a tree and could not wait until they could see it again!

Jon took Paris to Wheeler Gorge, and they were climbing rocks through the creek filled with water. They were have normal conversations, and playing around in the water, and making bets to see how long it was to the tree that they had previously carved in.

Of course Paris won, because the tree was as close as she remembers it to be. He took her to the tree, and there were two old guys sitting under the bridge, and Jon felt that proposing in front of them would not be romantic at all. So they went to go look at the tree and the rock that they carved into, took a few pictures, and started walking back down the creek.

They made a pit stop at what they called the "Love Rock" because it was the only rock that was like a couch in the middle of the dammed up part of the creek. So they sat down and they started to talk. Jon and Paris exclaimed that they both really liked this place. Jon asked "Do you want to make this place special." At that point Paris knew.

He pulled out a box with a beautiful ring in it and Jon stated " Let me be your man, and I promise to love you with a love that never ends. I want you to be the one beside me on our rocking chairs watching the green grass grow. there is no one I would rather be with or care for than you. You are my Sunshine and without you my life is dark. So be my wife and we will spend the rest of our lives together forever and ever Amen!"

Paris said "So are you asking me to marry you?!" Jon said, "Will you marry me?" and of course Paris said YES!

They were engaged on May 10th, 2009 at 7:30pm

How We Met

They met when they were 12 years old when they were in 8th grade. Jon lived in Redondo Beach and Paris lived in Calabasas (of course with the parents). Jon and Paris' parents took them to the Comic Book / Horror Convention at the Burbank Hilton Hotel. Paris and her younger sister Alannah were always scoping out new boys to talk to (as they were at that age), and Alannah saw Jordan (Jon's younger step brother) and thought he was totally hott! Alannah quickly called Paris to go check him out, and this time, Jon was there with Jordan. Paris eyed Jon as Alannah eyed Jordan. They all hung out for the rest of the day, and when it came to an end, they exchanged contact information. Paris and Jon kept up a phone conversation for a couple of weeks, until their parents realized they were racking up the phone bill. So they decided to write each other, but that quickly went away. 3 years later when they were 15, myspace became the new thing to be on. They found each other on there, and had a few conversations. They then lost contact until 01.15.08 when Alannah exclaimed to Paris that she found "JB" again! Paris messaged Jon on myspace, and they coordinated a time to meet on February 3rd, 2008, where they had their first date.

They have been inseparable ever since :)
